I bought this 6-pack of Gaoye readers because the internet promised they were "unbreakable" and "stylish." Let's be honest: I bought them because I lose them.
Product:
Gaoye Blue Light Blocking Reading Glasses (6 Pack)
Time Lived With:
1 year
Here's what actually happened:
I've lost 2 (as predicted). The other 4 are currently in their designated survival spots: kitchen, nightstand, bathroom, and car.
Durability Check:
The frames are solid, and the spring hinges actually work. I've sat on them twice; they didn't snap, which is my version of a lab test.
What Changed Over Time:
After a year, the hinges are still tight. The coating has held up too, No peeling or scratches.
My Take:
The blue light coating is fine. I can't tell if it's "saving my eyes," but it's also not annoying. They're just glasses, I'm still blind, and they don't suck.
Do they break easily?
No. I've sat on them twice and they're still alive.
Are they actually stylish?
Define stylish. They look like reading glasses, which is all I needed.
Does the blue light coating do anything?
Maybe. My eyes aren't worse, but I'm also not suddenly seeing the future.
Are they worth buying in a 6-pack?
Yes if you lose glasses like I do. No if you're a responsible adult.
