The Pink Stuff Paste | What It Actually Does to a Greasy Oven Door

Recently, I pulled out my tub of Pink Stuff paste to tackle the greasy oven door, specifically the glass, which had reached the point where I could no longer pretend it wasn't a problem. The tub was almost empty. That's not a prop. Thats how much I use it. You may have guessed it!  I was influenced to use this product. I didn't even know this paste existed before then and I've been using it ever since. I use it on the stovetop, counters, glass, and now the oven, and I keep ordering more. That's the review.

Product: The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste

Time Lived With: Nearly a year, multiple surfaces

Here's What Actually Happened: The glass door had heavy grease buildup. Not "I forgot to wipe it down" grease, the kind that accumulates over time and starts looking architectural. I applied the paste with my Scrub Daddy and got to work.

Here's what nobody tells you: you have to use some elbow grease. This is not a wipe-and-walk-away situation, especially on heavy buildup. If you're expecting a miracle that dissolves grease on contact, adjust your expectations now.

What it is: a paste that works when you work it. The difference at the end is real.

What It's Actually Like to Use: First thing you'll notice, no smell. Unlike the Pink Stuff All Purpose Cleaner or Toilet Foam, the paste has almost no scent. That's not a flaw, just worth knowing if you were expecting fragrance.

Second thing: it looks like it might be gritty or abrasive, the kind of thing that would scratch glass. It's not. It's surprisingly smooth to the touch. The Pink Stuff brand describes it as "mildy abrasive". I guess the same could be said about me. You don't notice any texture until you start scrubbing. I've used this paste on my glass cooktop and oven door multiple times with no scratches.

I used the rest of the tub on the door and the bottom of the oven. Ordered more before I even finished filming.

Durability Check: After regular use on multiple surfaces like cooktop, oven, glass, counters. No scratching. No damage. Just a paste that keeps doing its job until the tub runs out, which is the only reason I've ever stopped using it.

What Changed Over Time: Nothing about the product. What changed is the list of things I use it on keeps getting longer.

My Take: It's not a miracle cleaner. You will scrub. But when you're done, the oven door looks like it belongs in a different kitchen, which at a certain point of buildup, feels close enough to a miracle.

Common Questions I Had Before Buying

Is it abrasive? Will it scratch glass?

It looks like it might be, but it isn't. Smooth to the touch, non-abrasive in use. I've used it on glass and cooktop surfaces without scratching either.

Does it have a smell?

No. The paste is nearly unscented, which is different from the rest of the Pink Stuff line.

Do you really have to scrub or does it just wipe off?

You have to scrub, especially on heavy buildup. It's not self-dissolving. Budget some elbow grease. How much you scrub will depend on what you're cleaning and the scrubber you're using.

How much do you need?

More than you think for a heavily soiled surface. I used the rest of my tub on one oven door and the oven bottom. Worth having a backup.

Can you use it on other surfaces?

Yes. Cooktop, counters, glass, oven. I've used it on all of them. Check manufacturer guidance for your specific surfaces but in my experience it's versatile.
